Meanwhile, Srinivas’s boss (Manivannan) is planning to launch a new mobile phone with the help of CTS's rival company. He assigns Srinivas to lead the project, but Srinivas refuses to work on it as he believes that their company's new mobile phone is better than their rival's. Srinivas quits his job and becomes a farmer in his hometown.

May and her family go to Srinivas’s hometown for a vacation. Srinivas meets May's family and confesses his love for her. May reciprocates his feelings, and they decide to get married. However, May's father is against the marriage as he thinks that Srinivas's joblessness might pose a problem in the future. Srinivas decides to get a job to prove his worth, and he becomes a music teacher at a school. Meanwhile, his former boss realizes his mistake and apologizes to him.

The climax of the movie shows how Srinivas manages to prove his worth and wins over convincing May's father to accept their love. The movie ends on a happy note with Srinivas and May getting married.

The film's soundtrack composed by A. R. Rahman features some of the most memorable songs like "En Mel Vizhundha Mazhai Thuliye" and "Kanmani Anbodu Kadhalan." The songs were chartbusters and a huge hit among the audience.
