This crime mystery documentary examines New York real estate heir Robert Durst's involvement in the disappearance of his wife Kathie in 1982. Although law enforcement officials were in possession of circumstantial evidence that Durst was directly involved in her murder, they were never able to obtain an indictment from the grand jury. Although he was eventually arrested for the murder of another individual, Durst has never been tried for his wife's murder, nor has her body ever been discovered, although close friends and relatives insist the Durst is the sole suspect in the case.
