My Friend From Faro is a German romantic drama film directed by Nana Neul. It revolves around the story of Melanie (Anjorka Streche), a German woman who falls in love with a Portuguese woman named . She goes to the location Raquel mentioned in the photograph, but is shocked to find that the person she had been searching for isn't there. Melanie feels disappointed and frustrated on finding out that she cannot locate her love. She sets out to look for Raquel by exploring the city, and comes across various Portuguese people who go on to help her in her search.

Melanie explores Portugal while looking for Raquel, and comes across the cultural differences between Portuguese people and her German culture.
