National Lampoon's Stoned Age is a 2007 comedy movie that takes a hilarious look at two modern-day cavemen named Ishbo and Thudnik. Directed by Adam Rifkin, Stoned Age offers offensively crude and non-stop laughs as these two modern-day prehistoric geeks struggle to find love and fit in with their more evolved peers. In Stoned Age, the story begins with Ishbo (played by Rifkin), a young student, returning from a trip to the Natural History Museum. Ishbo becomes fascinated with the evolution of man and his history, leaving him frustrated with the idea of modern civilization. After trying unsuccesfully to coax his girlfriend Fardart (Ali Larter) into a time machine to return to a more "primitive" era, Ishbo sets out to prove that man had it good living in caves.

Thudnik (Hayes MacArthur), a fellow college student, joins Ishbo on his mission in the hopes of winning his own love interest, Fardart's sister Fardook (Jennifer Tisdale) who is equally disinterested in modern society. As the quest for the Stone Age takes them through various shenanigans, the trio find themselves in a series of hilariously funny and crude situations.

Ishbo and Thudnik experience a hilariously disastrous raunchy cave club scene filled with cheesy modern techno-pop mixed with grunts and groans. They try their luck at hunting and gathering in the wilderness only to create chaos for themselves due to their lack of natural instincts. The two even try their hand at inventing crucial elements of modern civilization like the wheel, the alphabet, and fire, leading them to dubious success.

The highlight of the movie is the satirical conversation throughout Stoned Age about the formation of our most iconic institutions like marriage, fashion, stardom, and fashion. However, as Ishbo and Thudnik try to fit in with modern society, they find their past lifestyle more increasingly enticing, leaving them conflicted and feeling like outsiders.

National Lampoon's Stoned Age showcasts superb acting from the cast that brings their characters to life fully. Adam Rifkin does a fantastic job of playing Ishbo, delivering punchlines and gags with perfect comedic timing. Ali Larter's portrayal of Fardart is spot-on, and her dismissive attitude towards Ishbo's obsession with Stone Age living plays up the humor in the situation non-stop. Hayes MacArthur's role as Thudnik is equally entertaining, and his accidental discovery of a new kind of food adds a layer of physical humor to the storyline.

In a nutshell, the movie National Lampoon's Stoned Age is a hilarious satire on human evolution that is mind-bogglingly funny. The movie lives up to the National Lampoon's brand, delivering one-liners filled with witty humor and wit. It's an excellent movie to watch for a good laugh, especially to those who enjoy slapstick comedy and don't mind some adult humor. Stoned Age's underlying theme of self-acceptance and what it means to fit into a society will be relatable to many who enjoy vividly entertaining movies.
