They are tough kids and they do whatever it takes to survive. José Luis Manzano plays the vicious El Jaro, a homeless teenager navigating through an ugly world of street hustling, drugs, and knife fights. When his girlfriend becomes pregnant, the stakes get higher: El Jaro turns to armed robbery. Madrid in the 1970s was a harsh place for low-class youths after General Franco's dictatorship ended. Navajeros shows a dramatized portrait of that gritty reality. The story follow the struggles of juvenile delinquents--a group of friends caught in the violent web of the barrios of Spain.
