Nightingale from Bukovina is a short Russian documentary about the hardships of female singers during the 1960s. Bukovinsky Solovey is a Russian folk singer who is extremely popular in her hometown. This is the first film that features her beautiful singing. However, she quickly realizes that it's much harder to be a professional singer than she once imagined. Bukovinsky Solovey struggles with the sexual prejudice that the Russian people display. After years of singing, she finally gets the respect that she deserves.
