This film takes place in Maraima, which is a small town in Brazil. Maria Arujo is a young woman who feels as though a real dragon's presence is lingering within the world. While on her travels in search of a way to ward off this presence, she meets Antero. Antero has always been considered to be a little strange, but generally, that is because he is considered by the locals to be an end-of-the-world prophet. After meeting Maria, he decides that it is his destiny to join forces with her on her journey in hopes of stopping this mythical creature.
