Black Fork of the Poteau River. This clear, cool running branch of the Poteau river has its history in Native American lore as well as its own share of urban legends. Running throught the Choctaw Nation, its been used as a water and food source for Ancient Natives, early French and Spanish explorers, the Choctaw tribe and possibly even Norsemen purported to have reached this area long before Columbus set foot in the Americas.
