A visual tour of the famed desert castles of the Omaijades. It begins south of Amman, the Jordanian capital. In spite of the poor condition of the winter residence of Qasr Mushatta, this is still a splendorous visual joy and a prime example of the former residences of the Omayyad monarchy. The second on the list is the Qasr Mushata, which means to outshine all other palaces. We follow along to the Qasr El-Kharaneh, the best preserved of the desert castles in Jordan. This film shows some of the most impressive architectural features and decorative elements of these ancient Persian castles. Some of these are known to date back to Roman times. It offers a fairy-tale like representation of these castles, bath houses and the lifestyle that was lived within.
