The movie Over The Border is mainly focused around a man by the name of Kim Sun-Ho who is a talented horn player in the North Korean orchestra. He has a beautiful girlfriend by the name of Yon-Hwa, whom he plans to marry in the near future. However, things change when Kim's family gets a letter from his grandpa, which everyone had assumed passed away.
In hopes to keep in touch, they begin writing each other back and forth. Unfortunately, this puts his entire family in danger and causes them to have to move to South Korea. Once there, he tries to get the money to get his girlfriend to South Korea too.
