The Thunderbolt was one of the heaviest (10,000 pounds empty), but one of the fastest (433 mph) planes of WWII, and could climb up to 41,000 feet. Nicknamed 'The Jug', it destroyed 160,000 enemy vehicles, 11,874 enemy aircraft, and 9,000 trains. More than 15,600 were manufactured between 1941 and 1945.
