Private Buckaroo is a 1942 musical comedy featuring the Andrews Sisters. The story takes place in World War II. A song-and-dance man named Lon Prentice wants to enlist in the army, but he is turned down because of flat feet. He is persistent, however, and enlists after he has foot problem corrected. The movie makes fun of the rigors of basic training. Prentice is surprised by the things he is expected to do during basic training. He tells his commanding officer that the training exercises are useless and beneath his dignity. His commanding officer an example out of him by exempting him from doing anything he does not want to do. This makes him very unpopular with his fellow recruits.
