Qamaran wa Zaytouna means Two Moons and an Olive and this film is a representation of Syrian cinema. The two moons and an olive in the story happen to be two boys and a girl. The film takes place in the sixties and deals with a family overcoming the aftermath of war. Throughout the story the family faces many different hardships and the young children of the family must find a way to live through tough times. The film deals with issues at school as well as issues at home. This story shows many different aspects of life including living through war and through troubles at home.
