Rebirth: New Orleans is a documentary movie that was released in 2013. Educator and director John Merrow highlights the New Orleans' public school system and shows how the school system made a complete turn after the effects of Hurricane Katrina back in 2005. Before the hurricane, New Orleans' public school system was one of the worst in the nation. Throughout the movie many students, teachers, and concerned parents are interviewed and they tell the audience their point of view in the terms of education. After the movie release, many people listened and helped the New Orleans school system. Through there are some improvements in the public school system, the movie gave the city a voice that is well heard.
