Following the 9/11/2001 terrorist attacks, U.S. evangelist Jerry Falwell famously said of feminists and "the gays": "I point a finger in their face and say, 'You helped this happen.'" Remembering a Cool September tells the story of what was, for the filmmaker, the most compelling patriotic act she encountered after September 11th, an act undertaken by two close friends, a gay male couple. Ten years later, Osama bin Laden may be dead, but military operations continue abroad, and heterosexism and homophobia persist at home.

What should we remember about 9/11/2001? What lasting lessons about inclusion and marginalization does September 11th teach?

Remembering a Cool September is a 2014 documentary with a runtime of 25 minutes.
