Rent Due is a 2020 comedy-drama film directed by Mike Berry and co-written by Berry and Preston Taylor. The story follows two friends, Deric (Ray Jr.) and Rob (B Daht), who are struggling to pay rent and stay out of trouble in their neighborhood. Deric is a young man with a passion for music who dreams of becoming a successful rapper. However, he is constantly getting into trouble with the law and is struggling to make ends meet. Rob, on the other hand, is a family man who is trying to provide for his wife and kids but finds himself in a similar situation as Deric.

Desperate to come up with the money to pay their rent, Deric and Rob attempt to sell a stolen truck but quickly discover that it belongs to a dangerous drug dealer named Blak Knyght (Michael Colyar). Blak Knyght demands that they pay him back, and he gives them just 24 hours to do so.

In a frantic search for the money, the two friends turn to their unconventional landlord, Ms. Peaches (Jasmin Brown), who has a reputation for being tough but fair. Ms. Peaches gives them an opportunity to make the money by taking on odd jobs around the complex, but they will have to work hard and overcome various obstacles if they want to successfully complete their tasks and pay their rent on time.

Rent Due offers a fresh take on the classic "rob Peter to pay Paul" story as it explores the struggles of young black men trying to find their place in society. The film tackles important themes such as poverty, crime, and the American Dream, while also delivering plenty of laughs and heartwarming moments.

One of the standout performances in the film comes from Jasmin Brown, who steals the show as the tough, no-nonsense landlord. Brown brings a lot of personality and humor to her role, and her chemistry with the other actors is a real highlight of the film.

Michael Colyar also delivers a memorable performance as the menacing Blak Knyght. While his character is a bit over-the-top at times, Colyar brings a lot of energy and charisma to the role, making him a worthy adversary for the two lead characters.

Overall, Rent Due is an entertaining and thought-provoking film that offers a fresh perspective on the struggles of young black men in America. While it is not without its flaws, it succeeds in delivering an important message while also providing plenty of laughs and heartwarming moments along the way.

Rent Due is a 2020 comedy with a runtime of 1 hour and 14 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.1.
