In the movie Ripper, The, set in present-day Los Angeles, a mysterious serial killer known as the Ripper is on the loose. The killer's modus operandi is to target and murder women who work in the adult entertainment industry. The police are struggling to catch the killer, and the deaths continue to pile up. Christopher Lewis plays Detective Kenneth Hughes, a seasoned detective who has been assigned to the case. He is determined to put an end to the Ripper's killing spree before it's too late. However, as more bodies turn up, Hughes realizes that he may be dealing with a much smarter and more elusive killer than he initially thought.

Tom Schreier plays Timothy Wayne Farnsworth, a loner who works as a janitor at a local strip club that the Ripper is known to frequent. Farnsworth is an oddball with a fascinations for serial killers and macabre. When he becomes a prime suspect in the Ripper case, Hughes and his team start to focus on him more closely.

Wade Tower plays Sergeant Michael White, Hughes' partner. White is the more level-headed of the two, always willing to consider all angles of the case. He often butts heads with Hughes, who can be a bit of a loose cannon at times.

Mona Van Pernis plays Lynn Reeves, a stripper who works at the same club as Farnsworth. Reeves becomes a key witness in the case after seeing the Ripper the night he struck his latest victim. As the only eyewitness, Reeves becomes central to the investigation, and her testimony could be the key to unlocking the case.

Despite its low-budget feel and occasional clunky dialogue, Ripper, The offers some genuinely suspenseful moments and a few solid twists that keep the audience guessing until the end. The film is not particularly graphic in its depiction of violence, but it does not shy away from the more disturbing aspects of the serial killer genre.

The performances in Ripper, The are relatively strong, particularly Christopher Lewis as the determined detective and Wade Tower as his more measured partner. Tom Schreier gives a suitably creepy performance as the oddball janitor, while Mona Van Pernis brings a bit of depth to her role as the stripper caught up in the investigation.

Overall, Ripper, The is a decent, if not particularly groundbreaking, entry into the serial killer genre. While it never quite reaches the heights of some of the more iconic films in the genre, it does offer enough tension, twists, and solid performances to satisfy fans of the genre.

Ripper, The is a horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 42 minutes.
