Watch Sky Lovers

This award winning Chinese language drama film was directed by Jiang Qinmin and released theatrically in 2002. The story follows the events that unfold after a communist takeover of the surrounding countryside. A old man accidentally misfires his gun, blinding himself; however, some youths see a young woman happen upon him and thus believe that she is culprit of the old man's injuries. Because of this the young woman tries to flee to a nearby farm where the old man's son happens to live. The youths happen upon them and declare that she is a criminal and should be punished, but the woman is mute and cannot defend herself. The old man's son, however, finds something special about the girl and sets himself to defending her innocence.
