Alex and Pat lost touch after high-school. Alex has overwhelming anxiety about the bigness of the world, and Pat is a husband, father, and successful telemarketer. After a phone call prompted by Alex's imaginary friend, Pat decides to use Alex to escape his domestic responsibilities and hit the road. On the way from LA to Illinois, the two old friends realize that they have no destination at all.
