Tea & Cake follows the journeys and relationships of four generations of women all living in a small town, with the friendship of Beth and Jo at the heart of the story. As Beth struggles to break free from parochialism to pursue a career in London, Jo remains home-bound, fulfilling her obligations to attend to a sick father and wayward aunt.
