Templar Nation is a thrilling action-adventure movie released in 2013. The movie features an impressive cast, including Erik Estrada, Richard Dutcher, and Joseph James, and is written by Joseph James and Scott E. Anderson. The film follows the storyline of an American archaeologist, Christopher Columbus, who discovers a lost Templar treasure hidden in a cave in modern-day Utah. When he goes missing, his son and friends set out to find him and the treasure. However, they soon realize that they are not the only ones after the treasure.

The movie begins with a prologue that takes us back to the 14th century, during the times of the Knights Templar. It shows us the persecution, torture, and ultimate execution of a Templar. As he dies, he hands over a scroll to one of his brothers, which contains a clue to a lost treasure. The movie then jumps to modern times in the United States, where the archaeologist, Christopher Columbus, discovers the scroll in a Templar church. He deciphers the clue and sets out with a small team to find the treasure.

Meanwhile, the team is being watched by a secretive organization led by a man named Leonhardt, played by Richard Dutcher. They are also after the treasure and will stop at nothing to obtain it. When the archaeologist goes missing, his son, Mason, played by Joseph James, takes up the task of finding him and the treasure. Along with his girlfriend, Sarah, and best friend, Tyler, they embark on a dangerous journey filled with codes, puzzles, and unexpected obstacles. Their quest leads them to a cave hidden deep in the mountains, where they face several challenges, including hidden traps, puzzles, and a dangerous cave-in. They are eventually rescued by a group of men who turn out to be the descendants of the Templars. The group's leader is played by Erik Estrada, who reveals to them the truth behind the treasure and the Templar's legacy.

The movie offers a unique blend of adventure and action. The quest for the treasure is engaging, peppered with intriguing puzzles and hidden clues that keep the audience hooked. The movie features some stunning cinematography, capturing the beauty of the Utah mountains, and the cave scenes are particularly well shot. The storyline, however, may seem a bit predictable at times, and the characters lack the depth needed to make them stand out. However, this flaw is offset by the movie's fast-paced action sequences and the sense of adventure, which keeps the viewers engaged throughout.

The cast does a decent job in their respective roles. Erik Estrada adds some much-needed gravitas as the Templars' leader, and Richard Dutcher puts in a convincing performance as the villainous Leonhardt. Joseph James, who plays the lead protagonist, is adequate in his role and manages to pull off some great action scenes. The supporting cast could have been better fleshed out, but they don't detract from the overall enjoyment of the movie.

Templar Nation is a movie that will appeal to fans of action, adventure, and treasure-hunting films. It offers a unique and fresh perspective on the Templars' legend and their treasure, and the combination of ancient history and modern-day quest makes for an exciting and engaging watch. While not perfect, the movie packs in enough thrills and action to make it worth watching. So, grab some popcorn, put on your adventure hat, and get ready for a fun ride into the Templar Nation.

Templar Nation is a 2013 action & adventure movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 25 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.4.
