"The Best Movie" is a Russian comedy from 2008 that parodies a variety of Russo-centric films. After Vadik dies at his wedding from overdosing on marijuana, he's forced to prove to the Almight that he is a fit candidate to pass through the Pearly Gates. As Vadik talks to God's office assistant, he remarks upon the high points of his time on Earth. The film then flashes to these scenes, such as getting intoxicated from imbibing cognac during his eighth birthday, working in the Soviet Army while stationed in Afghanistan, taking down bandits in the '90s, and meeting his lover.
