The Betrayal is an epic documentary about one man and his war-torn family. The Betrayal depicts how the bonds of family are kept irrepressible in spite of the dangers it takes to escape to America, only to find another kind of war. This film represents the never ending determination of a man trying to save his own life and that of his family.

This film is about the displacement of a family whose dreams are to start anew in America to only find that their dreams of America were not what they had anticipated. The family struggles with violence, drugs, and the stability of the younger children. Acts of betrayal are formed both within and outside of the family, making it nearly impossible to preserve their native cultures and values.

The Betrayal demonstrates the extensive ramifications of war and the union of family that can be mislead but never forgotten. Not only is this film about survival and strength, but also emphasizes the strength of the human spirit’s capacity to conform, exonerate and repair.
