Experience the American Journey through our country's visual heritage in this historical recording provided by the National Archives of the United States. From the U.S. Army's "The Big Picture" television series, 1950-1975. The Army places much importance on the development and maintenance of high morale in each individual soldier. Through its Special Services, it brings all troops, regardless of their duty station, a well-rounded recreational program designed to keep the soldier occupied during his off-duty hours. Special Services sponsors many varied activities for our troops. Among them are: Intra-mural and Inter-Service competition in football, baseball, track, tennis, etc. SS arranges tours of top-flight stage radio and television stars into the field -- included in this issue as scenes of various shows for our troops in Korea. In addition to telling the global role of Special Services, the program will include views of the Olympic games held in Helsinki, Finland during 1952, in which members of the Armed Services were entered in competition.
