The Cars That Ate Paris
- 1 hr 31 min
The Cars That Ate Paris begins with a young couple driving through rural Australia. After some time they come to a stop and are then promptly attacked by the townspeople of the rural Australian town of Paris and then killed. After being hauled back to town, their bodies are taken to the local surgeon's home where they are lobotomized and their bodies sent to the hospital to be used in medical experiments that will hopefully increase the survival rating of those who live in the town. A short time later, two good ol' boys, George and his younger brother Arthur, are driving towards Paris when their car is attacked. George is killed, but Arthur is spared as he is younger. Arthur is nursed back to health by the mayor of Paris and then given a position at the local hospital as an orderly. Arthur then tries to leave Paris, but due to it being wild country and he not having any confidence to drive, he is forced to stay in the miserable town. Later in the day an incident happens where a young man is burnt inside his car by the older members of the town. The young men, who are quite hot tempered, decide to stage a revenge. Meanwhile, Arthur is promoted to parking inspector, a position that earns him a lot of hatred from the younger men. Finally the situation reaches a boiling point, and there is a climatic battle at the mayor's fancy-dress ball. Arthur manages to gain his driving confidence back when he successfully kills his former supervisor with the now-dead Mayor's car. After all of the excitement ends, Arthur and several of the unhurt townspeople flee Paris and head back to civilization.
