An Ethnobotany Field School was held in the small Maya village of Yaxunah - a small community in Yucatan. We were honored to attend a Cha'a Chaak ceremony organized by the community leaders on July 26, 2015. The ceremony is designed to appeal to the Maya god Chaak to bring rain for recently planted corn. This footage was taken with permission from the event's organizer and shaman.
