The Compulsive Traveler is addicted to the encounter with different cultures and their folklore. This is where history, traditions and myths get together and this is the quintessential travel experience. He travels to the South Pacific to see how strongly the Maori experience has survived assimilation and how it shapes life in New Zealand. He gets a Ta Moko (face tattoo) and run with the Maori across the land. He returns to one of his favorite places in the world and one the last unspoiled Caribbean countries: St Vincent and the Grenadines. Here he plunges into a week of Carnival madness to live the ultimate cultural tradition. This is not for the fainthearted. Unless you become one with the music you will not survive the days dancing under the blazing sun: worth every drop of sweat. He goes to Mexico in November to experience the unique and mind-blowing way Mexicans greet their dead each year, Mexicans believe the dead come back for a couple of days every year to socialize with the living, so welcoming them with food drinks and much music is a most important activity. He continues to Puhket, Thailand to check on the reconstruction after the tsunami and the way this beautiful island and its traditions are coming back to life.
