The Devil at Your Heels is a documentary about daredevil and stuntman Ken Carter's attempt to launch a rocket-powered car over the Saint Lawrence River in the 1980s. The proposed jump from Canada to the United States was one mile long, which would have broken all records at that time. Technical and financial problems dog Carter as he tries to make history. Eventually, the stunt's financiers bring in another stuntman to try the jump, but things don't go according to plan.
