Watch The Engagement Ring

This Azerbaijani comedy movie debuted in 1991. It follows the life of Sara, an Azerbaijani woman who is married to an alcoholic husband by the name of Huseyn. While vacationing with her husband in the countryside near the capital city of Baku, she finds out that her engagement ring is missing. Sara accuses her neighbors of stealing the ring, and it is not long before a feud breaks out. The movie portrays the falling apart of old Soviet values and the corruption that had become widespread as the Soviet Union was falling apart.
