At the moment 50% of the world’s population lives in cities or urban areas, by 2050 this figure will be over 80%. Already humans face several problems because of the way we live, poor interpersonal relations, high fuel prices and climate change. In this documentary, Danish architect Jan Gehl, has studied human behavior in several cities for over forty years. He has found that modern cities minimize human interaction, intimacy and cause the problems facing the human race. However in “Human Scale” Jan tries to argue that it is possible to build cities that will create a balance between nature, the need for human interaction and improve the welfare of the human race.
