The Infinite Man is a 2014 Australian sci-fi romantic comedy movie directed by Hugh Sullivan. The film follows Dean (Josh McConville), a brilliant but socially awkward scientist who is trying to rekindle his relationship with his girlfriend, Lana (Hannah Marshall). The story begins with Dean planning a romantic weekend for Lana at a motel in the middle of nowhere. However, things don't go as planned. Lana gets pissed off when Dean becomes more focused on his work than on their relationship. She accuses him of being selfish and insensitive, and ends their relationship.

Heartbroken, Dean decides to build a time machine to go back in time and fix his mistakes so that he can win Lana back. He has already gone through the time machine several times, and each time he gets closer to the perfect romantic weekend that he envisions. However, each time, something goes wrong, and Dean has to start all over again.

The film is told in a non-linear fashion, with the viewer being transported back and forth through time. As we see Dean's various attempts at creating the perfect weekend for Lana, we begin to see the toll that his obsession with his girlfriend is taking on him. His attempts become more and more desperate, and he becomes increasingly unhinged.

At the same time, we see Lana's character develop, from being the spoiled girlfriend, to someone who realizes that she is in love with Dean but frustrated with his obsession with the past. She accuses Dean of being unable to move on from their failed relationship, and this causes him to spiral further.

The film is notable for its use of time travel and its exploration of relationships. The idea of going back in time to fix mistakes is one that is interesting, and the film explores it in a way that is both humorous and poignant. The film also raises questions about the nature of relationships and the need to let go of the past in order to move on.

The performances in the film are strong, with Josh McConville giving an excellent portrayal of Dean as a man who is obsessed with winning back the woman he loves. Hannah Marshall is also impressive as Lana, a woman who is torn between her love for Dean and her frustration with his obsession with the past. Alex Dimitriades provides some comic relief as Terry, the motel manager, who becomes embroiled in Dean's time-travel shenanigans.

The film's cinematography is also noteworthy, with the use of split-screen techniques and the contrast between the bright, sunny motel scenes and the dark, moody laboratory scenes.

Overall, The Infinite Man is a well-crafted film that combines elements of sci-fi, romance, and comedy. Its exploration of the themes of time travel, relationships, and obsession is both clever and thought-provoking, and the performances of the cast make it an enjoyable viewing experience.

The Infinite Man is a 2015 science fiction movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 24 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.2.
