The Love Market is a 2009 documentary which follows an Australian film maker as she visits the town of Sapa, in North Vietnam. The town is home to 200 girls who live in the streets selling beautiful embroidery. The girls are happy with their lives, but dream of a world beyond selling crafts in the streets. The film chronicles the lives of the girls as they try to transition from a small hill town, to more normal dwellings in the big city. The author returns many times over a three year period to document their triumphs and struggles.
