The Mangler Reborn was a screenplay written to breathe new life into the film series, based off the short story "The Mangler" by Stephen King, originally published in his collection "Night Shift." The film opens with Hadley (played by Weston Blakesley), a fix-it man who finds the original parts of the killing machine known as the Mangler. Originally a steam folder from the Blue Ribbon laundry in Maine, the machine accidentally imbibed virgin's blood and certain substances used in voodoo ritual, and as a result it was possessed by a demon that wrecked havoc by consuming people. The machine was dismembered in the previous movie, but Hadley reassembles the machine to its original, working glory. Unfortunately, the demon inside takes control over his weak will, devouring him and turning him into its servant. Now Hadley has to feed people to the Mangler, otherwise he begins to rot and fall away. What's even worse is that his sadistic way of going about the job makes him the Renfield to the possessed machine's Dracula. When a father and son team of burglars decide to target Hadley's home, despite its lack of anything obviously worth stealing, they discover a scene of carnage played out in front of them. Panicked, they have to run for their lives to escape the mad man and the blood thirsty machine both. However, in true Stephen King fashion, the monster is not easily done away with, nor easily escaped by the end of the film. With a very small cast and a run time of only 90 minutes, the Mangler Reborn was a small project. Third in the series, The Mangler Reborn is the final chapter.
