The Missing Picture is a documentary that shows the trauma suffered by a 13-year-old boy when he and his family were taken from their home in Phnom Penh to work in a labor camp. The film uses clay figures to depict the suffering and horrors experienced by millions who were forced to work in filthy conditions in the rice fields in order to help build a Communist utopia. The hard-carved figures painted in extraordinary detail and the boy's narration of events make the atrocities easier to watch, but the film still highlights what life was really like.
