The Perfect Picture: Ten Years Later is a highly-anticipated romantic-comedy sequel from 2019, directed by Shirley Frimpong-Manso. The film tells a story of three female best friends, Aseye (Jackie Appiah), Dede (Lydia Forson), and Akasi (Naa Ashorkor Mensa-Doku) who after ten years of separated lives, reunite to navigate love, life, and friendship all over again.

The movie is set ten years after the events of the first film, The Perfect Picture, which was released in 2009. The first movie dealt with the complicated love lives of the three women in their mid-twenties, while the sequel follows their journey a decade later, when they are now in their mid-thirties and have to cope with a new set of challenges.

Aseye, who was once married to a wealthy man, is now divorced and trying to regain her footing in life. She is still in love with her ex-husband, Kojo (Chris Attoh) but can't seem to find a way back into his heart. However, she finds solace in her writing, and decides to use her experiences to pen a book, The Perfect Picture: The Untold Story.

Dede, on the other hand, has moved on from her player days and is now married with two kids. She is a successful businesswoman, but her marriage is on the rocks, and she has to confront some harsh truths about herself and her husband, Fred (Richard Mofe-Damijo), who is battling with a mid-life crisis.

Akasi, who always believed in happily-ever-after now finds herself divorced and at the crossroads of finding love or focusing on her career. She lands a job in South Africa, where she meets a new love interest, Enyinna (Gideon Okeke) but their budding romance is put to the test when he reveals a secret from his past.

The Perfect Picture: Ten Years Later explores relatable themes such as love, heartbreak, infidelity, betrayal, and forgiveness, all ingrained in the complexities of friendship. The movie beautifully captures the essence of African love and relationships, and how they are affected by societal expectations and cultural norms.

The cinematography is stunning, with the director beautifully showcasing the breathtaking scenery of South Africa, where the movie was shot. The soundtrack is also an excellent addition, with a combination of African and western-themed music that compliments the film's mood.

The performances delivered by the lead actors are top-notch, with Jackie Appiah, Lydia Forson, and Naa Ashorkor Mensa-Doku reprise their roles seamlessly. It is also a delight to see the chemistry between the supporting cast members such as Richard Mofe-Damijo, Chris Attoh, and Gideon Okeke, who add depth to the movie's storyline.

Overall, The Perfect Picture: Ten Years Later is an excellent movie that showcases the beauty and complexities of African love, friendship, and relationships. It is refreshing to see a sequenced movie that is just as good, if not better than its predecessor. The movie's captivating storyline and brilliant performances will keep you entertained and leave you with lots of emotions.
