Watch The Prodigal Son

This documentary examines how Ljubica and Alexo, first generation migrant parents, react to their son's announcement that he is homosexual. When Ted informs them he is gay, his mother insists that he is undergoing a phase that will eventually pass. But Alexo simply turns away from him, refusing any efforts at communication between the two for fifteen years. Then Alexo receives the tragic news that he has been diagnosed with a potentially fatal illness and must reconsider whether or not he wants to continue to be estranged from his son due to his sexuality.
