Paul Williams directed this thoughtful film about political extremism. The movie stars Jon Voight as a student named "A" who attends an academic institution. The young man grows zealous about a cause and gradually finds his views turning radical, while support wanes for his positions on campus. The plot unfolds in a story which obtained critically favorable reviews when the film first appeared in theaters. It was released during a turbulent era of mounting student protests in opposition to the Vietnam War by many people in the United States. Seymour Casel and Robert Duval also star in the movie.
