Ever since 1973 when William Peter Blatty released his terrifying book turned movie, "The Exorcist," the ritual of exorcism has become one of the most misunderstood rites performed by not only the Catholic Church but by religious clergy of many different faiths. Based somewhat on the book and film "The Rite," this documentary The Rite Of Exorcism: Myths, Mysteries And Hope attempts to explain the roll that exorcists and exorcisms play in today's society. Through interviews with some of today's leading experts, and several members of the clergy see and hear why sometimes reality can be more disturbing than fiction.
