Conspiracy theorists may enjoy this documentary that questions the authorship of William Shakespeare’s plays and poems. Little is actually known about William Shakespeare the man. His father was a glove maker; Shakespeare worked in theater and had a wife in Stratford. Thus, some scholars have tried to reconcile how a person with such a background could have become the world’s greatest writer.

The film features interviews with academics and dramatic recreations and looks at some theories. Could the author have been Christopher Marlow, Sir Francis Bacon or Edward de Vere? Was Shakespeare himself the true author all along?
