The Unearthly is a science-fiction B-movie that was released in 1957. It was directed by Boris Petroff and starred John Carradine, Myron Healey, and Allison Hayes. The film's plot centers around a doctor who has created a serum that can turn humans into superhumans. However, the serum comes with a side-effect that turns people into monstrous creatures, leading to disastrous consequences.

The story begins with Dr. Charles Conway, played by John Carradine, inviting a group of young people to his secluded mansion in the hopes of finding subjects for his radical experiment. He tells them that he has created a serum that can enhance human strength and intelligence, and he is looking for willing participants.

One of the young men, Mark Houston, played by Myron Healey, is skeptical of the doctor's motives and tries to leave the mansion. However, he is stopped by the doctor's assistant, Lobo, played by Tor Johnson, who threatens him into staying. Mark soon realizes that there is something sinister going on in the mansion and he must find a way to escape.

While the doctor's experiment initially seems to be working, he soon discovers that the serum has a side-effect that transforms humans into hideous, deformed creatures. The doctor himself is also infected with the serum and becomes increasingly unstable as a result.

Allison Hayes plays Grace Thomas, a young woman who is already suffering from a physical disorder. The doctor convinces her to take the serum in the hopes of curing her illness, but she too transforms into a monstrous creature. Mark and Grace's boyfriend, played by Roy Gordon, team up to try and stop the doctor before he can continue his experiments.

The Unearthly is a classic B-movie that features all of the elements that make this genre so enjoyable. There are plenty of eerie scenes set in a creepy mansion, complete with hidden passageways and secret rooms. The film also has a great cast, with John Carradine standing out as the mad scientist who is slowly losing his grip on reality. Myron Healey is also excellent as the skeptical hero who is determined to stop the doctor's experiments.

The visual effects in The Unearthly may seem dated by modern standards, but they were cutting-edge for their time. The film's monsters are suitably grotesque and there are some suspenseful action sequences that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Overall, The Unearthly is a fun and entertaining B-movie that is worth checking out for fans of the genre.
