The Van Halen Story is a 2003 documentary about legendary rock band Van Halen, with an emphasis on their early years. The filmmakers interview current and former Van Halen members as well as many other people associated with the band: fans, roadies, family members, etc. The film received praise for taking a balanced look at the controversial replacement of lead singer David Lee Roth by Sammy Hagar, but many reviewers noted that the video and recordings of the band playing live in the 1970's and 80's are not of high quality.
