Third Person is a dramatic film released in 2015, directed and written by Paul Haggis. The third story is set in New York and revolves around a married woman, Julia, played by Mila Kunis, who is fighting for custody of her son from her ex-husband Rick, played by James Franco. Her troubles are exacerbated by the fact that she is working as a cleaner in a hotel and is being investigated by the social services. She forms an unlikely friendship with her boss, played by Maria Bello, who helps her through her struggles.

All three stories are seemingly unrelated until the final act, where the connections between them reveal themselves. The stories are all about love and trust, and how they can be both empowering and destructive. Each character in the movie is searching for connections with others while battling their own personal demons.
