Time of My Life is the 2012 heartfelt drama written and directed by Niels Laupert, and produced by Wim Wenders. The film stars Koen De Graeve, Geert Van Rampelberg, and Lotte Pinoy in the lead roles, and features an outstanding supporting cast. Time of My Life is a story of two men, facing different phases of life, who meet and discover that each can help the other face the challenges of their respective futures.

Alex (Koen De Graeve) is a successful and somewhat arrogant lawyer, who is about to turn forty. He has lived his life in a way that has left him with few genuine connections with others outside of work. However, when he is diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, he realizes that his life is not as happy and fulfilling as he had once believed. Determined to make the most of the time he has left, Alex decides to embark on a spiritual journey to India.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have the character of Leo (Geert Van Rampelberg), a slightly lost and confused twenty-something. Leo is struggling to find his career path, and his relationship with his girlfriend is on the rocks. It is only after he meets Alex, that Leo decides to turn his life around.

As the two men get to know each other, they learn valuable life lessons from each other. Alex teaches Leo that it is okay to make mistakes and that sometimes the most difficult times in life can lead us to great things. Meanwhile, Leo shows Alex how to find joy in the little things, to appreciate the present moment, and how not to take life too seriously.

The friendship between the two men blooms into an emotional journey of self-discovery for both. They travel together from Antwerp to India, and back again, in a journey that will change their lives forever. Along the way they encounter various obstacles and challenges, including a near-death experience, that forces both to face their real fears and to reassess their ideas on what it means to lead a meaningful life.

The film features a mesmerizing adaptation of the famous novel by Hermann Hesse, "Siddhartha". With its wonderfully insightful characters, Time of my Life is also a love letter to the cities of Antwerp, Brussels, and Mumbai, all of which are selected with great precision and are beautifully photographed.

Koen De Graeve’s portrayal of Alex is one of the best performances in his career. He brings to life a man who is, at first, completely self-absorbed and yet slowly transforms into a humble and open-hearted character. Meanwhile, Geert Van Rampelberg adds complexity to his character's internal struggle with his career and love life. The on-screen chemistry between the two actors is exceptional, and their performances give the film its raw emotional power. The supporting cast is also excellent and brings to life the vibrant and diverse characters that the two men encounter during their journey.

Time of My Life is a beautifully crafted film that captures the essence of human relationships, the unfulfilled desire for meaning in life, and the fragility of our existence. It is a story about discovering the joys of the present moment and the power of human connection. It is a film that inspires the audience to reflect on their own lives and, ultimately, is a celebration of living.

Time of My Life is a 2012 drama with a runtime of 2 hours and 1 minute. It has received mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 7.2.
