Tope: The Bait is a riveting action-thriller movie directed by Buddhadev Dasgupta. The movie stars some incredible actors like Sudipto Chattopadhyay, Chandan Roy Sanyal, and Kajal Kumari who have delivered exceptional performances with their convincing portrayals. The movie revolves around a small village in rural Bengal where people are struggling with poverty and unemployment. In such dire circumstances, the only way to make a living seems to be to either work as a daily wage laborer or to smuggle cattle.

Tope, played by Sudipto Chattopadhyay, is a young man who is trying hard to make ends meet. He aspires to become a respectable citizen but is forced to take the path of smuggling due to his circumstances. However, Tope's luck changes when he meets a smuggler named Kesto, played by Chandan Roy Sanyal.

Kesto is the most notorious smuggler in the region, and his gang owns a considerable number of cattle farms. He offers Tope a job, but there's a catch. The job involves smuggling drugs instead of cattle, and Tope is asked to deliver the goods to a dreaded gangster named Mondal, played by Kajal Kumari.

Despite knowing the risks involved, Tope takes up the job, hoping to make enough money to improve his life. But things take an unexpected turn when he realizes that he has been set up, and the police are hot on his trail.

Tope has to use his wit and intelligence to escape the law enforcement officials, the notorious gangster, and Kesto's gang members, who are all after him. The tight screenplay keeps the audience engaged, and the multiple twists and turns keep them on the edge of their seats.

Apart from the action, the film digs into the harsh realities of rural India, where people are struggling for daily survival. The movie explores the complex web of poverty, unemployment and crime that traps people in a never-ending cycle, and how the lack of resources and opportunities can push them towards a life of crime.

The performances by the lead actors are commendable, and they bring their A-game to the table. Sudipto Chattopadhyay shines as Tope, portraying the character's vulnerability and strength with ease. Chandan Roy Sanyal delivers an outstanding performance as Kesto, the unscrupulous smuggler. He brings a sense of unpredictability to his character that keeps the audience guessing.

Kajal Kumari's performance as Mondal, the ruthless drug kingpin, is unforgettable. She brings a sense of authenticity to the character that is both terrifying and intriguing.

The music score by Biswadeep Bose adds to the movie's overall mood, building up the tension during the action sequences and lending weight to the emotional moments.

Overall, Tope: The Bait is a well-crafted movie that keeps the audience hooked from start to finish. It's a gritty and realistic portrayal of rural India's harsh realities, where people are forced to make tough choices because of a lack of opportunities. The movie is a must-watch for anyone who enjoys action-thriller movies that delve deeper into societal issues.
