Unhitched, also known as Best Man, is a romantic comedy with Stuart Townsend as Olly Pickering, an aspiring writer. His childhood friend Murray tries to help him find the love of his life. The movie starts with Olly Pickering, Murray and James at University. Olly and Murray are childhood friends, while Murray takes an instant dislike to James after James has a bit too much to drink and vomits all over him. After graduation Olly, a promising writer, wins a large advance on a book and gets writers block so badly that he cannot use a urinal. He is forced to return the advance and move into a room in Murray's Soho apartment and take a job as a research assistant for a women's magazine. Olly's apparent downward spiral changes when he meets Sarah at a bachelor party. He soon discovers that Sarah is James' fiance and decides to convince her that he is, in fact, the one she should be marrying. Olly decides to go for broke after finding out that his friend James is having affairs and is only interested in Sarah for her family's money and connections. Starting at the bachelor party, Olly's friend Murray tries to set him up with someone, but he thinks Olly is interested in Becka. Many mishaps occur, eventually resulting in Olly losing his job after finding his boss trying on a wedding dress. Graham tries convincing her to hire him back but ends up dating her. With a few more hilarious plot twists, and some porn shop items, they get Sarah to cancel the wedding, but then Murray admits to staging that. Olly pretends to leave town brokenhearted. A stag party is thrown for James, and James admits to being unfaithful. He then handcuffs Olly to a pole to prevent him from telling Sarah. Olly escapes, and on his way to intercept Sarah and James prevents another wedding. Olly and Becka finally convince Sarah to call off the wedding.
