Watch Venezuela Revolution in Progress

This television production originally aired on the Discovery-Times channel in 2005. The documentary tells of the recall election involving President Hugo Chavez during the summer of 2004. President Chavez caused increasing polarization among the population with his agenda for the country. Chavez promised a revolution that would cause a redistribution of the country's oil wealth to the poor. Venezuela has one of the largest oil deposits in the world. Its importance in Latin America is obvious. President Chavez tries to rally support for his policy by using the turbulent history of his country's relationship to the United States.
