Watch Very Blue Beard

This is a 1979 Russian romantic comedy. A detective is charged with the investigation of Bluebeard, a medieval duke who, allegedly, killed all his wives. The detective, who goes nameless, goes to Bluebeard's home to interview him, while at the same time making a phone call to his wife. His wife tells the detective to come home immediately, as she suspects her detective husband of being unfaithful. Bluebeard tells the detective his story, as written by the detective. Bluebeard tells the detective his three wives treated him badly and were all killed. But that it wasn't him who killed them. Later the detective's wife calls him and tells him she'll divorce him if he doesn't come home right now. The detective tells her he'll be right there, as a long blue beard grows on his face.
