The 22-minute movie is directed by Katja Benrath and produced by Tobias Rosen. The movie is set in northern Kenya, where tension between Christians and Muslims is high due to terrorist attacks. It tells the story of a Christian woman named Jua (Adelyne Wairimu), who embarks on a bus journey from Nairobi to Mandera, a town near the Somalia border, in order to visit her family for the Christmas holiday.
Jua is apprehensive about the journey, as she fears for her life due to the recent attacks. She is advised not to make the trip, but her faith propels her forward. Her fears are further heightened when the bus is stopped by a group of terrorists, led by one Abdullahi (Abdiwali Farrah). While they have previously been targeting Christians, Abdullahi forbids his men from harming Jua and the other Christian passengers as he and his men enter the bus. He also demands that Muslim passengers identify themselves and separate from the Christians.
The Muslim passengers initially refuse to do so, causing Abdullahi to become angry and threatening to harm everyone. However, a Muslim man named Salah Farah (Barkhad Abdirahman) eventually steps forward, identifies himself as a Muslim and shields the Christian passengers, ultimately sacrificing his life to protect them.
The movie is a chilling reminder of the dangers of intolerance, extremism and terrorism, and the importance of peace and unity amongst people from different religions and cultures.
