He even invites his wife to a party that he is throwing that evening. When Augustus gets home, he takes off the suit and puts on his old clothes. His wife comes home from the party later that evening, and she is angry because she didn't recognize her husband at the party.

The next day, Augustus goes back to the clothes seller and buys another suit. This time he goes to a different restaurant and sees his wife and her friends again. They don't recognize him, and he decides to play along. Augustus invites them to another party that he is throwing that same evening. This time he wears a different suit and introduces himself as a different person to his wife and her friends.
