'Will it hurt doctor?' Such a universal question in the mind of every patient about to undergo any kind of operation even though it doesn't always get said aloud. It's there, in the mind. Is it going to hurt? Closely followed by another how am I going to feel afterwards? Those are the two questions that this unique UK series, tackles head on. We selected the most common kinds of operation, and then for each programme we put together three key characters, someone who was about to undergo the operation and who was anxious, someone who had already undergone the operation and had experienced the outcome, and an expert medic who could explain the operation and the implications in terms any patient can understand. It's simple, but it works like a charm. And it has put a lot of patient's anxieties to rest!
